Large Coltwood Grip Adapter
Large, Coltwood Material

The items above are grip adapters for the Second Series Colt Woodsman. A pair of grip adapters, one large and one small, was furnished with all civilian versions of the 2nd series Colt Woodsman pistol. The purpose was to provide for different sized hands of different shooters. Either one could be attached to the back strap to provide a more hand filling grip. The attaching screw serves as a filler screw when neither one is attached. The attaching method is shown in the right hand photo.

I have a few extras of the large Coltwood type only. They are new condition, old stock, original Colt manufacture. Functionally the color doesn't matter, but generally people choose the color that matches the grips on their Woodsman. Others select the Coltwood material regardless of the color of their stocks, because it looks better and is more durable.

My extras are for sale for $25 each. Shipping in the United States is $5 for any number via Priority Mail with tracking. To order, click on the grip adapters above.

To select the part you need, you must first determine whether your Colt .22 auto is a First, Second, or Third series, and in some cases you will need to know which model it is. You can open a new link to see how to determine those things by clicking on Series and Models. You can return here by simply closing the newly opened link.

Many changes were made in the Woodsman line over the 62 years of production, and parts from one time period or model often will not interchange with those from a different time period or different model. Sometimes the parts will interchange, and will work just fine, but will not be exactly the same and may differ in markings, etc. That is important to collectors, but usually is not a major concern to someone who is just trying to get an old gun back in shooting condition. My descriptions will normally specify which model a part is "correct" for and also which models it is compatible with.

SHIPPING CHARGES and CHECK OUT

I charge a flat $5 per order for shipping, anywhere in the 50 United States, regardless of the number of items or the total weight of the items ordered. That is the amount the US Postal Service charges me for up to 16 ounces via priority mail with tracking. If your order weighs more than 16 ounces I will either use an alternate shipping method or absorb the cost difference. Sorry, due to complex world wide restrictions I do not ship gun parts outside the US.

When you are finished shopping you can click on the "View Cart" button and review your order. When ready you can click on "Proceed to Checkout" and the $4.95 will be added to your total. You will not be charged until you complete the order, verify your information, and click on the "Pay Now" button.

If you do not wish to use Paypal you can mail a certified check or money order to me at: Bob Rayburn PO Box 97104 Lakewood, WA 98497. Be sure to email me and I will mark your choice as SOLD.

Some items are subject to prior sale. If any item you order is no longer available, all charges for that item will be reversed.

ABOUT US

I once had an extensive Woodsman collection, and over the years I bought parts from gunsmiths who were retiring, or gun shops that were going out of business. As a result I ended up with sizeable quantities of some parts. I am not in the parts business; I'm merely selling off what I have and will not be replacing the parts as they are sold.
